Our Mission is to gather and disseminate information, conduct research, advise town agencies, and engage with the community on matters related to the conservation of the town’s natural resources. We are currently conducting an Natural Resource and Conservation Plan of Gallatin to assess forest health, identify unmapped wetlands and do an overall survey of the town.
If these goals intrigue you, please consider attending a meeting or reach out if you have something interesting on your property that you would like to share.
EARTH DAY 2025 EVENT

Join us on Saturday April 26th to celebrate Earth Day! Enjoy snacks, beverages and a guided nature hike within the park.
We’ve planned an event at Lake Taghkanic State Park where you’ll learn about Gallatin’s special forests and wetlands, the development of our Natural Resource Inventory, and why it’s important to protect the natural features in our town.
Did you know that Gallatin’s healthy woodlands provide a forested corridor linking wildlife between the Appalachian Mountains to the southwest of us, all the way north to the Canadian border? Gallatin is an important place for all of us.
We want to hear from you – about your local knowledge and any precious features on your land. Help inform Gallatin’s conservation plans and priorities!
